Laura Bailey

Each week, model, photographer and Vogue contributing editor Laura Bailey shares her most-loved things of the moment - from the accessories to personalise (to keep or gift) now, to the buzzed-up beauty launch that we've been waiting for. Delve into her picks of the week, below.

Wear
If I had to choose just one designer to wear all the time it would be Bella Freud - my friend, collaborator and confidante. For T-shirts, knits, tailoring and more, and even my favourite (1970) candle.
Coming soon (in store and online in March), my pick from spring/summer is her Trinidad jacket - perfect for travel (and work on location on either side of the camera). Tough enough for a desert storm but imbued with Bella’s flirty nonchalance, even worn over a tracksuit - or a bikini. My kind of uniform. Layer it up, add your own patches or badges, and channel Lauren Hutton in khaki and freckles. Just add adventure.

Gift
Charlotte Olympia Vanina clutch. A cherished gift. Worth the wait. (Order in advance for a special birthday). I blame Charlotte for my addiction to the highest of heels - I just got too used to being that tall. But her accessories prove just as seductive.
Say my name... Or just choose "Love" online. (The personalised Vanina clutch is only available to order in store - see herwebsite for locations).

Read
Self-help has had a makeover. The quest for calm self-confidence or the keys to the castle of commitment (issues) or at the very least a temporary cease-fire? The School of Life’s extensive library offers empathetic encouragement - the success of which has led to the launch of occasional retreats for those prepared to travel in pursuit of all kinds of enlightenment. The iconic Life House, designed by John Pawson in 2016, deep-sunk in a remote Welsh valley, is a place for "thinking, reflection and new perspectives". For when you want to be alone (but not completely). A modern pilgrimage - philosophy demystified and the practical made romantic. Or vice versa. (Phone a friend). Retreat dates and more info online.

Shop
Bespoke Adidas pool slides. Too far in advance of summer and actual swimming, I was admiring my friend’s stripy socks and Adidas pool slides under the table at lunch when she casually mentioned the idea of customising online. Cue a satisfying game of colour coordination versus the clash versus black on black on black... and a present crisis solved via an IOU (allow a month ideally).
Colouring in, for big kids.

Beauty
Josh Wood Colour Everything Mask. This long-awaited buzzed-up launch is simply going to make a lot of women (and men...) very happy. Josh Wood - award-winning beauty pioneer, an artist whose palette is hair, and my best (boy) friend - is sharing the secrets of 30 years at the top of the international hair game and reinventing the business of home hair colour at the same time. Consult online with your "virtual Josh" and create a colour prescription for now or for life. The new range boasts sophisticated colour-enhancing products too at bargain prices. My new favourite - the Everything Mask is a "colour-locking, fade-slowing, hair-glossing, multi-tasking, deep-conditioning treatment", my once-a-week fix-everything beauty treat. Add a Shade Shot’ (Give Me Sun for me) to boost shine - and winter morale...
I’ve been testing this range in development for a year - a haircare regime rethought along the principles of skincare with an innovative digital power base. It might just change your life. Don’t trust me. Trust Josh.
