Xbox Live Error Causes Xbox One Black Screens [Update: Issues Fixed]

If you turn your Xbox One on right now and face nothing but a black screen, it's not just you. Microsoft has confirmed that some kind of problem is impacting the system right now, and in an update, it says it should be fixed soon. [Update: Microsoft now says all of the ongoing problems have been fixed. "The issues surrounding Xbox One console startup, sign-in, title update errors, and our status page have now been resolved," it said on Twitter. "Thank you for sticking with us while our teams addressed these issues and we appreciate the reports. As always, we're here and we're listening."]
"We are aware of reports of Xbox One console startup, title update and sign-in errors," Microsoft said in a tweet. "We will keep everyone informed once we have more information to share. Thank you all for your patience." A subsequent tweet adds, "Our engineers are actively investigating and working on the issues outlined in our initial post."
The usual source for additional details, the Xbox Live status page, was itself inaccessible for a time, which Microsoft also acknowledged. It has since come back online and lists "signing into Xbox Live" as the issue with Xbox Live's core services, along with some encouraging news: "We are seeing indications that we are on the path to recovery with the Xbox Live sign-in issues, and we expect to be back up and running shortly."
While Microsoft's tweet makes this sound like a somewhat run-of-the-mill, if inconvenient, error, it appears to actually be much worse in some cases. When I booted up my Xbox One, the notification telling me my user account had automatically logged in came up, but the screen was otherwise completely black. While I was able to eventually bring up the guide, the system didn't respond to any further inputs, though I could see that it was downloading an update for one game.
In addition to this, other users are seemingly unable to sign in to Xbox Live, preventing access to some games and online multiplayer. We'll report back as more information becomes available.

Marouane Fellaini set for move from Manchester United to Shandong Luneng

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is on his way to China to discuss personal terms with Shandong Luneng, Sky Sports News understands.

An agreement in principle has been reached between the two clubs and Fellaini has already passed a medical with the Chinese Super League team.
Fellaini, via his Instagram story, posted a picture of himself at an airport with the caption, "Let's go", on Thursday morning.

The 31-year-old has been at Old Trafford since arriving from Everton in 2013 and was an important figure during Jose Mourinho's reign.
Fellaini was rewarded over the summer with a new contract which is set to run until 2020, with the option of a further year
However, the Belgium international has fallen out of favour under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, playing just 31 minutes since he took over in December.
While Premier League clubs must complete incoming deals by Thursday's 11pm deadline, teams in China are able to complete signings until February 28.

Yahoo data breach payout blocked by judge

A judge has rejected Yahoo's attempt to draw a line under a series of breaches it experienced between 2013 and 2016.
The firm had proposed a payout to lawyers acting on behalf of affected US and Israeli users.
But while the deal said the attorneys could claim up to $37.5m (£28.5m) in fees and costs, it did not disclose the sum reserved for victims.
The California judge also objected to Yahoo being too vague about what remedial steps it was taking.
Details of the ruling were first reported by the Courthouse News Service, which has also published the decision in full.

Dark web sale

Judge Lucy Koh has form in dealing with contentious cases involving tech giants.
She previously oversaw a high-profile patent dispute between Apple and Samsung, and has also presided over headline-making cases involving YouTube, Qualcomm and Tesla.
The Yahoo class action lawsuit specifically covers three data breaches that affected the web portal's users' personal information:
  • a 2013 event in which hackers were able to access all 3 billion Yahoo accounts
  • a 2014 attack, which the firm said had affected more than 500 million accounts
  • a breach that happened between 2015-16, in which the plaintiffs allege that the data stolen in 2014 was used to gain access to specific user accounts
The lawyers pursuing the case noted that Yahoo had repeatedly delayed notifying the public of the incidents until some time after it had become aware of them.
In one instance, the business acknowledged it had paid for data from millions of its hacked accounts that had been advertised on the dark web, but disputed claims that it had failed to prevent the information being purchased by others.
Among the evidence presented to the court was a report submitted by the plaintiffs that alleged there had been further breaches dating back to 2008 involving "several million accounts", which Judge Koh noted that Yahoo continued to deny.
Yahoo was taken over by the telecoms firm US Verizon in 2017 in a $4.5bn deal.

'Inflated figures'

The judge first expressed reservations about the settlement at a hearing in November, when she complained that she had been unable to "figure out the total estimated sum" being promised.
And on Monday, she formally rejected the deal.
  • Yahoo 2013 data breach hit 'all three billion accounts'
  • Yahoo 'hacker-for-hire' pleads guilty
  • US charges Russian spies over Yahoo breach
Her ruling set out several objections.
Firstly, Judge Koh said she was dissatisfied that it released Yahoo from having to make further payouts related to breaches prior to 2013.
Since the firm had not admitted to any such events, the judge said the court was unable to evaluate what harm might have been experienced by users.
Judge Koh added that a failure to disclose the total size of the settlement fund meant that those affected would be unable to determine if it was reasonable.
In addition, she expressed concern that the sum that could be claimed by the 140 lawyers pursuing the case "may be unreasonably high".
The judge also claimed Yahoo had publicly declared an "inflated, inaccurate" estimate of the number of users affected while filing under seal - meaning it does not become part of the public record - "a more accurate, much smaller number".
This might reduce the amount that could be claimed by each victim and act as a disincentive to them seeking recompense.
Furthermore, the judge criticised the tech firm for making only "vague commitments" to improve its cyber-security.
"Yahoo's history of non-disclosure and lack of transparency related to the data breaches are egregious," Judge Koh concluded.
"Unfortunately, the settlement [and related filings] continue this pattern of lack of transparency."
Her refusal to accept the deal means the two sides will have to consider new terms.
A spokesman for Verizon said it did not discuss pending litigation.
The plaintiffs' lead law firm has not responded to a request for comment.

Apple hints at lower iPhone prices as sales fall

Apple boss Tim Cook has hinted it could lower iPhone prices in some places in an attempt to boost falling sales.
Revenue from the iPhone, responsible for most of the firm's profits, fell 15% in its latest financial quarter.
Overall the firm's revenue was down 5% from a year ago to about $84.3bn (£64.5bn).
The slowdown had been expected after the tech giant warned investors earlier this month that revenue would be about $84bn, lower than expected.
The firm had blamed the issues partly on an economic slowdown in China.
But chief executive Tim Cook said customers were are also struggling with the firm's high prices.
He said a strong dollar, which makes its products comparatively more expensive, had hurt its sales in emerging markets.
Mr Cook said the tech giant had started this month to re-price its phones to shield customers from the impact of currency fluctuations.
"What we have done in January in some locations and [for] some products is essentially absorb part or all of the foreign currency move as compared to last year," he said.
Still, executives said they expected the firm's challenges to continue.
Apple predicted revenue for the three months to 31 March of $55bn-$59bn - suggesting a drop of at least 3.4% year-on-year.

"The macroeconomic environment, particularly in emerging markets, will continue to be there," Luca Maestri, the firm's chief financial officer, said.
Apple's struggles are not unique. Global smart phone shipments contracted 5% in 2018, according to Canalys, a market analyst firm.
But the firm's share price has dropped by around one third since October, amid investor concerns that buyer appetite for iPhones is weakening.
Fears intensified after the firm said it would stop reporting the number of iPhones, iPads and Macs it sold each quarter.
However, Apple shares gained more than 4% in after-hours trade on Tuesday, as the firm proved more resilient than expected.

Quarterly sales revenue dropped by more than 25% in its Greater China region, which includes Hong Kong and Taiwan, compared to the year before.
Sales also slipped about 3% year-on-year in Europe.
But in the Americas - the firm's single biggest region - sales were up almost 5%.
Revenue from the services business also jumped 19% to a record $10.9bn in the quarter, which ended on the 31 December.
It's Apple's worst performing quarter for years, but that's not to say investors won't be mildly relieved.
After the firm's warning earlier this month that it would be posting earnings well below expectations for what is typically its blockbuster quarter, investors were well-prepared to see the drop in iPhone sales, and as a result, revenues overall.
That bad news was balanced out - perhaps even cancelled out - by the good news on services.
A big increase compared to this time last year - 19% - and a very healthy gross margin of 62.8%.
Apple is transitioning, slowly, into a different kind of company that isn't so reliant on hardware, and these numbers show that so far that transition is going well.
With $245bn in case on hand, it can afford to splash out and make investors even happier with a major acquisition or two in the entertainment space (but then, I've been saying that for a while now!).

Mr Cook said he remained confident in the business, pointing to strong sales of iPad and Macs, as well as growth in its services division, which includes Apple Pay.
Overall profit in the quarter fell less than 1% to $19.97bn.
"While it was disappointing to miss our revenue guidance, we manage Apple for the long term, and this quarter's results demonstrate that the underlying strength of our business runs deep and wide," he said.

When I Say Miley Cyrus's Velvet Dress Plunges Past Her Belly Button, I'm Not Exaggerating

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are back in the spotlight as husband and wife. The couple recently stepped out for their first public appearance since getting married in December, and, oh boy, do they look good. Their newlywed glow can definitely take partial credit, but we have to tip our hats to Miley's jaw-dropping dress choice.
The 26-year-old musician opted for what appears to be a plunging velvet Hermés dress in a deep plum shade with chain-strap detailing for the G'Day USA Gala on Jan. 26. She paired the dramatic gown with layered Sydney Evan and Loree Rodkin necklaces, black strappy heels, and, of course, her sparkling wedding ring. Liam looked handsome as ever in his sleek black suit and silver tie, perfectly complementing his wife's ensemble. Ahead, see more glimpses of Miley and Liam's looks.

Howard Schultz: Ex-Starbucks CEO considers presidential run

The former CEO of coffee chain Starbucks has said he is "seriously considering" running for president.
Howard Schultz, who stepped down as the firm's boss last year, says he is considering running as a centrist independent candidate in 2020.
In a series of tweets, he said the current two political parties in the US were "more divided than ever".
"Let's discuss how we can come together to create opportunities for more people," he posted.
During an interview with CBS' 60 Minutes programme, Mr Schultz said he had been a "lifelong Democrat" but criticised the current two-party dominated system.
"We're living at a most-fragile time not only the fact that this president is not qualified to be the president, but the fact that both parties are consistently not doing what's necessary on behalf of the American people and are engaged, every single day, in revenge politics," he said.
Democratic presidential candidate Julián Castro is among those who have criticised the move.
He told CNN that Mr Schultz's potential run could give President Trump the "best hope of getting re-elected" by splitting the opposition vote.
"I would suggest to Mr Schultz to truly think about the negative impact that might make," he said.
Mr Schultz rebuffed that criticism during his CBS interview, insisting: "I wanna see the American people win."
"I want to see America win," he said. "I don't care if you're a Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, Republican. Bring me your ideas and I will be an independent person, who will embrace those ideas. Because I am not, in any way, in bed with a party."
Mr Scultz, a former espresso machine salesman, grew up in public housing in Brooklyn, New York.
He started working for the original Seattle Starbucks chain back in 1982 when it only had 11 outlets selling coffee beans.
He acquired the company in 1987 and by the time he stepped down in 2018, it had grown to 28,000 cafe in 77 countries around the world.

The 65-year-old frequently used his position to speak out on social issues like immigration and gun control.
He now has an estimated fortune of about $3bn (£2.3bn) and is a regular donor to Democrat campaigns, including that of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
His departure as CEO of Starbucks last year sparked rumour of his political ambitions.

European Paper Talk: Barcelona consider Matthijs de Ligt swoop

The January transfer window is into its final week and, with another round of fixtures coming up, several clubs may find themselves persuaded to enter the market.

Spain

Barcelona are not ruling out a move for Ajax's 19-year-old defender Matthijs de Ligt. The Catalan club have already confirmed a move for the Dutch side's other major star, Frenkie de Jong. (Mundo Deportivo)

Atletico Madrid are still awaiting the arrival of Alvaro Morata. It was thought that the Chelsea striker would make his move once Gonzalo Higuain had joined the London club, but nothing has been finalised and Atletico will have to make do with just 13 fit first-team players against Getafe this weekend. (AS)

Liverpool and Arsenal's hopes of signing 20-year-old Brazilian right-back Emerson are at an end, with the Atletico Mineiro player joining Real Betis. Barcelona are also part of the deal, paying part of the fee in order to get a first option on him in the future. (Marca)
Arsenal and West Ham are interested in signing 22-year-old midfielder Pablo Fornals. The Villarreal player has impressed this season despite his team being in the relegation zone, and he's thought to have a release clause of around £28m. (Sport)

France

Leandro Paredes has agreed a deal to join Paris Saint-Germain. The French club will pay Zenit St Petersburg £35m for the 24-year-old midfielder, who was also a Chelsea transfer target. (RMC Sport)
However, the signing of Paredes doe not mean that PSG will abandon their attempts to sign Everton's Idrissa Gueye or Napoli's Allan. (L'Equipe)

Germany

Unhappy at being on the sidelines at Borussia Dortmund, Shinji Kagawa would like to move away, possibly to Spain. The German club would be willing to let him go for a small price, however there have been no offers yet and time is running out in the window. (Bild)

Schalke may be in the market for a defender in a hurry, after sustaining three injuries in their match against Hertha Berlin. "We only have two centre-backs," manager Domenico Tedesco said when asked about the injuries. "That depends on what's wrong with Benji [Stambouli]. But if we get one, then I'm happy." (Sport Bild)

Italy

Ivan Perisic has requested a transfer away from Inter Milan, wanting a move to the Premier League. Inter may be willing to let him go, but only if the price is right - around £30-35m. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Juventus are set to sign defender Martin Caceres for what will be the defender's third spell at the club. The 31-year-old previously played for the club in the 2009/10 season, and then from 2012 to 2016. His latest signing, from Lazio, will cost them €600,000 (£520,000). (Corriere dello Sport)

The Ultimate Guide To Betting In Agent Dewa Poker 88 - Pokerpuma

The Ultimate Guide To Betting In Agent Dewa Poker 88 - Pokerpuma

Before we start, I want to introduce a biggest website poker online agent Dewa Poker 88 online in indonesia PokerpumaPokerpuma paid a company to examine more than 100 million cash game hands played on its website and found that only about 25 percent of all hands actually made it to showdown. That means for every four hands, three are won when one player bets and everybody else folds. Clearly, then, betting is an important component to poker, perhaps more so than the cards you are dealt (this is the quintessential skill vs. luck debate).

There are really just two reasons for betting - you are betting for value (i.e. you think you have the best hand and are trying to build up the pot and/or take down the hand right then) or you are bluffing (you don't have the best hand, and the only way to win is to get your opponents to fold).

If you put chips into the pot for any other reason (I'm just keeping you honest, or I just wanted to see what you had) then you are wasting chips.

Betting Vs. Calling

Anytime you put chips into the pot in poker, you are betting, whether you are calling an existing bet, opening the betting or raising. There is a big difference between calling (flatting) and raising, however.
When you call an existing bet, you are not putting any pressure on your opponent. Remember that three-fourths of all hands are won when somebody bets and everybody else folds. Nobody folds just because you called their bet. When you are the aggressor by either making the initial bet or raising the existing bet you are forcing your opponent to react and giving yourself a chance to win the pot before it gets to showdown.

Know The Opposition

Determining your opponents' relative playing abilities is key in setting your betting style. It is much easier to bluff a good player than it is a bad player, so if you find yourself up against several inexperienced players, it is probably a good idea to shelve any bluffing tactics. Instead, these are the players you should be value betting against constantly, because they are not going to fold whenever they connect with a flop or get a pocket pair. Keep the pressure on these players all the way to the river if you feel you have the best hand. They will keep calling well beyond when they should fold and give you a big payday.
If your opponents are tight, then bluffing can be more profitable because they are more likely to lay down a decent hand against an aggressive player.
Similarly, if you are up against aggressive players and you know there is a really good likelihood that a player will re-raise your bet, you should take that into consideration before putting any chips into the pot. If you decide you are going to fold if he re-raises you, then your best bet would be just to check.

Know Thyself

Your table image will also play a role in the effectiveness of your betting. If you are a loose player who sees just about every flop and almost always puts out a continuation bet after the flop, then expect to see a lot more players willing to either call your bet or re-raise you.
If you are a tight player who folds frequently to bets and re-raises, then expect savvy players to bet into you more often. This could work to your advantage, of course, when you have a really strong hand, but it also will force you to make a lot of decisions and it will increase the importance of connecting with the flop. This style will cause other players to respect your raises more, but that means you may have difficulty building up substantial pots because players are folding to your bets.

The Price Of Poker Should Never Go Down

When betting, you generally do not want to send out any signs of weakness, but one common mistake that a lot of players make is to reduce the size of their bets in the later rounds (turn and/or river). Let's say in a Rp 1.000/Rp 2.000 cash game, you raise to Rp 7.000 pre-flop, and then bet Rp 10.000 after the flop. The turn comes up and all of the sudden you are not so sure you have the best hand any more. If you are not willing to bet at least what you bet in the last round (Rp 10.000), then you should probably just check. If you don't think you have the best hand, and you're not willing to bluff, don't put any chips into the pot.
Lots of players will try to make a defensive bet, say Rp 5.000, in an effort to keep their opponent from betting more than that. Reducing the size of a bet from one round to the next is a sure sign of weakness, and a good player will pounce on that decision and re-raise you, meaning you either just threw away the Rp 5.000 you bet (because you are going to fold) or you will put more money into the pot than you really wanted (because you now feel compelled to call). Your bets should at least stay consistent from street to street and will ideally increase with each round.

Betting To Take Down The Hand

Let's say you are in a multi-table tournament and get A-J in middle position. The Big Blind is 200 and it folds to you. What size bet should you make? Most standard opening bets fall somewhere in the 2.5 - 3 times the big blind range (500-600). Putting in a pre-flop raise somewhere in this range should be enough to scare away all the trash-hand players and boil the action down to one or two others post flop.

Let's say you bet 550, the button and the Big Blind call and the flop comes up A-Q-4 rainbow. At this point, you can be reasonably confident you are ahead.

There are just a few hands tha beat you (pocket aces, pocket queens, pocket 4s, A-K, A-Q, A-4 and Q-4). It is probably safe to assume aht pocket acces, pocket queens, A-K and A-Q would have re-raised you preflop (at least they should have with the presence of more than one other player still active in the pot). It's probably also safe to assume that Q-4 would have folded pre-flop, leaving you only to worry about pocket 4s and A-4. The Big Blind is first to act and checks to you, leaving you the decision to either check or bet.

This would be a good time for a continuation bet, for several reasons. First, you have a strong hand and are likely ahead. When you think you are ahead in a hand, you really don't want to give your opponents a chance to get a free card and catch up. Secondly, one of the two players may have an ace with a lower kicker and might pay off your bet. Thirdly, there are plenty of chips already in the pot (1,750 - or nine big blinds). And lastly, your opponents are already inclined to believe you have a good hand because of your pre-flop raise. A good follow-up bet of about half the pot size (850) will only confirm to them that you have an ace and will most likely scare them away.

Betting As A Bluff

You can't always rely on having the best cards to win. That's why learning to bluff is so important. For more detailed information on the art of the bluff, read the CardsChat strategy article on bluffing. But a few rules to remember for betting as a bluff are:
  • Figure out when your opponents are not particularly strong. This will make them more susceptible to a bluff. Look for signs of weakness and press the action.
  • Learn to play the board. You may have raised pre-flop with K-Q suited and then completely whiffed on the A-7-5 flop. However, your opponents are going to be inclined to believe you have a strong hand, and if you follow up with a continuation bet, you may scare them off, even good players with middle pocket pairs.
  • In multi-table tourneys, don't try to bluff too much in the early stages, when the blinds are small and the pots are generally small as well. Use the early part of the tournament to build up your chip stack so you can afford to take a stab or two at a bluff in the later rounds.
You also need to make sure your bets tell a consistent story. If you limp into a pot pre-flop, check-call the flop, check the turn and then all of sudden make a huge bet on the river, your story doesn't make a lot of sense. The size of the bet might scare people away, but the inconsistent manner in which you played the hand might also give away that you are bluffing. Remember that when you are bluffing, you don't want to give people a reason to call you.

CONCLUSION

Your betting action is how you communicate with the other players at the table the relative strength (or weakness) of your hand.A strong, decisive bet indicates a strong hands, or at least that is what you want your opponents to believe. Be ready and when it is your turn to act, announce your action immediately and put the chips in the pot in one clean motion.

Calling or checking, hesitation, flumbling with your chips, indecision, re-checking your cards several times - all of these actions indivate weakness. That's why it is so important to have a plan and execute that plan as soon as it is your turn to act.
